Long Bob Hairstyles

November 17, 2015

Last November, I made a radical decision. Me, the girl who loves to color her hair all shades of the rainbow, decided to go all-natural. In one year, I went from a bleach blonde pixie cut to a light brown lob. As someone who loves changing up their look regularly, I depend on fun hairstyles to keep me from going stir crazy! Here are some of my favorite, easy-to-do looks that you can get at home:

Topknot

A topknot is a great choice for second day hairstyling. To create this look, I added Aquage dry shampoo for textured volume and Kerastase Laque Couture for hold. Using bobby pins, I took random pieces of the ponytail and wrapped them around each other to form a knotted look. Remember – messy is good!

Braided Crown + Bun

This was a rainy day look – it kept everything up and out of the way. I started by parting my hair to one side. I then did a loose braid and secured it at the ends with a hair tie. Similarly to the top knot, I took messy sections and pinned all of the loose ends in place. Voila, an inside-out braid and messy bun in one!

Loose Waves

Loose waves are one of my favorite go-to looks. I used a flat iron to create big, flat, irregular curls. A little dry shampoo will add some volume and Kérastase Laque Dentel is great for touchable hair with lasting hold.

Knotted Chignon

A knotted chignon is a chic choice for second day hair. It is a little more involved than the other hairstyles, but gives you a very interesting look that’s great for the workday. To get the look, start with a half ponytail at the top, and another ponytail at the bottom that collects the rest of the hair. Using a good amount of bobby pins, knot small pieces of hair together and pin until everything is off your neck and secure. The more freeform the process, the better!

Sleek Blowout

Last but not least, a sleek blowout never goes wrong, regardless of how long your hair is. To get the look, I used a large curling iron and added a slight flip to the ends. My favorite products for sleek hair include:

Kevin.Murphy Plumping Wash and Rinse – thickens hair, increases volume

Kérastase Initialiste – beautiful hair is dependent on a healthy scalp

Kérastase Nectar Thermique – for moisture and heat protection

Aquage Dry Shampoo – adds volume while styling

It’s invigorating to change up your hair routine and try something new. Next time you’re at PIN Salon, ask your stylist which hairstyles would be easiest for you to recreate at home with the texture and cut of your hair. We can also recommend the perfect product regimen just for you.

Happy styling!
