Last week, New York was flooded with international fashionistas for the highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2017 New York Fashion Week shows. While London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks have yet to come, the New York shows set the bar high for beauty looks we can expect to see in the new year. From slick, sculptural looks to perfectly undone coifs, this season offered a little something for everyone.
While the hair at DKNY referred to the sporty, slicked-back styles of seasons past, this look was cool, clean, modern and elegant. With a deep middle part and a high-shine finish, the classic hairstyle provided the perfect canvas for a variety of makeup looks and interesting clothing.
The Alexander Wang show was all about the laid-back, beachy blonde. These lived in waves were created from two-day hair, and a thick paste was added in to create that chunky, matte feel.
This season, the sophisticated aesthetic of Carolina Herrera was reinvented with a modern, minimalistic spin. From the office to a black tie event, Herrera's sleek look is a beautiful choice.
Josie Natori's half-up, half-down look is perfectly undone with a natural, air dried texture. This is the perfect example of street style inspiring the runway.
Jeremy Scott's mushroom bob was highly sculptural with a futuristic spin and lots of shine. Pass the round brush!
