2016 Hair Resolutions

January 30, 2016

So you’ve tackled your health and fitness resolutions for 2016, but have you considered hair resolutions? Leave your dry ends and repetitive hairstyles in 2015, and join us in an adventurous (and perhaps slightly indulgent) new year!

Suds up. Everyone loves that clean hair feeling, but you’re only doing your hair a favor if you wash with the right shampoo. First, at PIN Salon, we suggest using salon-grade shampoo and conditioner to maintain your hard-earned salon locks. Secondly, give cleansing conditioner a try this year! Once a week, use a mild cleansing conditioner like Kevin.Murphy’s 2-in-1 RE.STORE. This product, one of the newest in the Kevin.Murphy line, uses superfood proteins to give moisture, elasticity, and strength back to damaged hair.

Makeover. Anyone can get stuck on a hairstyle for months, years, sometimes decades at a time. Whether you’re changing your color, or cutting your hair, the change doesn’t have to be dramatic, but make a promise to yourself to switch it up this year with a new look. Visit our Pinterest page to get inspired!

Add texture. Flat, lifeless hair is so 2015. Add some vivacity back into your hair using texturizing products such as Kevin.Murphy DOO.OVER or Kerastase V.I.P. You’ll be amazed at the voluminous transformation you’ll see in your hair when using these powder-based sprays. After all, when your hair looks good, you feel good!

Treat yourself. In 2016, resolve to treat yourself every now and then. If you love the way you feel when you leave the salon, come see us more often! You don’t have to get a full highlight or major haircut to receive the VIP PIN Salon treatment. We invite you to book a conditioning treatment followed with by a blowout for a relaxing experience and a beautiful result.

Throw out and replace. Many of us have a stash of hair products that go completely unused. Maybe you purchased them when you got a pixie cut three years ago, but in reality, you haven’t used the products since that first week after the haircut! Make a goal to weed through that beauty cabinet and eliminate the unnecessary. Next step? Replace those products with ones you’ll actually use! Visit with your colorist and stylist at PIN Salon to determine the perfect hair products for your type and style of hair.

Invest. There is certainly sticker shock associated with buying high-quality heat tools such as a straightener, curling iron or blowdryer. This year, we encourage you to invest in a great blowdryer in particular - it will change your world by delivering a beautiful result with ease (and in record time). Overwhelmed by the choices - let’s talk, we’ll recommend one!

Be adventurous. Last, but certainly not least, grab 2016 by the horns and be adventurous when it comes to haircolor and hairstyle. Have you been wanting to try red hair since you were 15? Have you ever flirted with the idea of chopping all your hair off? Go for it - we’ll help you make it happen!
